Volunteers are the backbone of our organization, and we are always looking for reliable, enthusiastic volunteers to join our team. Experience with horses and/or working with individuals with special needs is helpful, but if you are willing to learn, then we are willing to train! Here are our current volunteer needs.

  • Leading & sidewalking during lessons (must be physically fit enough to walk for 45 minutes & jog for short periods)
  • Grooming & tacking up horses for lessons
  • Exercising riding of horses (with prior approval of Executive Director)
  • Cleaning tack
  • General office work
  • Grant writing
  • Planning special events

Lastly, we are always on the lookout for college students (undergrad or graduate) studying therapy (physical, occupational, speech, recreation, etc), nursing or other medical fields, veterinary/animal science, or special education looking to complete internships.  We offer a diverse clientele, a great working environment & a very knowledgeable staff.

As a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, TTR relies heavily on the support of individual and corporate donors to enhance its mission. With lesson fees only covering about 50% of our operating costs, we absolutely could not function without your generosity. We have a special need currently for individuals to sponsor some of our therapy horses and riders. Please contact us if you would be willing to consider a monetary gift. Our horses and special riders thank you for any support you are able to give!

We are also able to accept select new and gently used horse tack & equipment. Contact us if you have any appropriate items.  Please do not be offended if we choose not to accept your very generous offer.  We are truly very grateful, but unfortunately have very limited storage space presently.  Here is a list of current needs.

  • Lead ropes (poly or poly/cotton, no nylon or leather, no attached chains please)
  • Halters (horse & cob size)
  • Assorted brushes & currycomb.
  • Saddle pads (either A/P or dressage)
  • Assorted winter gloves (for humans)
  • Gift certificates to Equestrian International
