The group started in the fall of 2014 with the support of the Reinholds VFW and the Lebanon Veterans Hospital. We hold weekly 2 hour sessions from 7pm-9pm on Mondays &  9-11am on Thursdays. Contact and registration through the Lebanon VA Hospital recreation therapy department.

The programming is client centered to build trust, and connection to create a partnership with their horse. Through the weekly sessions the end goal is for the clients to learn about how their working relationships with the horses carriers over to their relationships with the people around them. By becoming self aware of how they interact with the horses, they can learn how to make changes with how they interact with people. “For every Human action there is a Horse reaction.” This becomes a tag line in the weekly teaching as our participants just as much about themselves as the Horsemanship.

In the words of one of our veterans, "What is a veteran's group? A time and place where people get together share a meal, practice mindfulness, connect with other veterans while creating a synergy between the horse world and the military world. Thank you volunteers for your dedication each week."
